Dentures
Innovations in technology have made partial and full dentures more natural looking and much easier to wear.
Partial and Complete Dentures are removable appliances used to replace missing teeth. They are commonly used when there is inadequate tooth structure for permanently-cemented replacement teeth or not enough bone structure for implant placement. Technological advancements in prosthetics and a talented lab can produce beautiful, natural looking results. The dentures we design ensures that the patient moves out with the same confidence as he would do with his original dentition. Dentures in our clinic are made using the best available materials in dentistry such as Lucitone or SR Ivocap .This procedure is carried over 4-5 appointments.
Types of Dentures
Complete Dentures
At Smile Matters we provide Biofunctional Prosthetic System {BPS} Dentures. This is the new era of complete Dentures. BPS denture meets the esthetic demand of patients with its unique teeth Set, which replicate anatomy of the natural tooth that contribute to a life-like appearance and resistance to wearing. They also adequately support your cheeks and lips giving you not only the perfect smile but also a hearty laugh.
Cast Partial Dentures
A Cast Partial Denture (CPD) is s a removable partial denture consisting of a cast metal framework (Cobalt – chromium or titanium) that contains artificial teeth set in an acrylic resin. As compared to conventional acrylic denture, Cast Partial Denture is stronger, more durable and retentive. It is also thinner and less cumbersome than any acrylic Denture and allows for better taste and speech functions.
Flexible Dentures
Flexible dentures are a kind of partial denture, made of a thin thermoplastic such as nylon, compared to the thicker, more rigid acrylic used in full dentures. Flexible dentures are a more comfortable fit than other removable partials. Flexible dentures do not use any metal parts so tend to look and feel a lot more natural.
Immediate Dentures
This is fabricated and inserted immediately after the teeth are. extracted and the tissues are allowed to heal under the denture. Thus providing form function and esthetics in the interim period till a more permanent solution can be given.
Post Denture Care
• Dentures are removable prostheses that need to be cleaned and brushed daily. They need to be ideally rinsed with water after every meal and placed back in mouth
• You should also brush (soft-bristled toothbrush) and massage your gums daily to prevent infections caused by bacteria.
• Remove your dentures at night. Your dentures should be kept in water when they aren’t in use to prevent them from warping.
• Keep in mind that it may take some time to adjust to dentures as you learn how to use the muscles in your cheeks and tongue to keep them in place.
